Almaviva 2015, Puento Alto, Chile

Regular price £195.00

Almaviva is an excellent example of collaboration between Rothschild winemaking and local producers, which has resulted in prestigious, globally-recognized and award winning wine. Founded in 1996 in Chile's Maipo Valley, Baron Philippe de Rothschild (Château Mouton-Rothschild) and Eduardo Guilisasti Tagle (Concha y Toro) partnered up to create the first Chilean wine under the French "château" concept. Using New World fruit with Old World expertise, the wine is aged for 16-18 months in new French oak barrels.

Ripe blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry mingle over notes of tobacco, chocolate and liquorice, with a subtle herbal undertone. A dry and warm year resulted in ripe, voluptuous fruit. Aged for 18 months in French oak, this wine is full-bodied wine with firm, velvety tannins.
