Domaine l'Archiviste Banyuls 1965, A.C. Banyuls, France

Regular price £140.00

L'Archiviste specializes in well-matured, fortified, sweet wines, and this 1965 Banyuls has undergone decades of oxidative ageing in wood. Situated along the Mediterranean coast, Banyuls produces some of France's best fortified wines, and with over 60 years of age, this bottle offers a taste of history, complexity and warmth with every sip.

This rare, fortified, dessert red wine offers a complex profile on the nose of dried orange peel, fig compote and toasted walnuts. On the palate, the wine balances candied red fruits with leather and spices. Despite the age, the wine is still impressively fresh, balancing a vibrant acidity with complex sweetness.
