Fortunate Son The Dreamer Cabernet Sauvignon 2021, Napa Valley, U.S.A

Regular price £175.00

Fortunate Son is one of the more recent wine projects from critically acclaimed winemaker, Jayson Woodbridge of Hundred Acre fame. The wines are sourced from heritage micro-block sites that showcase the quality of the vineyards that are the bedrock of the early history of the Napa Valley. Each Fortunate Son wine is made with the same meticulous winemaking and farming practices as the flagship wine, Hundred Acre. They represent a commitment to quality and craftsmanship that very few wineries in the world can match. This Cabernet Sauvignon is aged for 34 months in 100% new French oak. Only the finest French oak barriques are used with stave wood that is hand-selected for ultra-tight grain, then air dried for three years before being made into barrels.

The wine opens with an expressive nose of ripe black cherry, crushed violets, and hints of dark chocolate and warm baking spices. On the palate, it’s plush and layered, offering generous notes of blackberry compote, plum, and cassis, underscored by subtle oak, tobacco leaf, and a touch of graphite. Silky tannins and well-integrated acidity give the wine both structure and elegance, leading to a long, polished finish. A richly textured and harmonious Napa Cabernet blend, crafted with finesse and power in equal measure. To sum it up in one word, delicious!
