Rimapere Plot 101 Sauvignon Blanc 2022, Marlborough, New Zealand

Regular price £33.50

In 2012 Baron Benjamin de Rothschild acquired a 26ha vineyard in the Rapaura region of Marlborough, New Zealand. This estate is planted predominately with Sauvignon Blanc alongside a 4ha plot of Pinot Noir. After working with this wonderful terroir for eight years, the team identified a superior 2.6ha plot. Rimapere ‘Plot 101’ is made exclusively from fruit that derives from this special plot. Unlike Rimapere Sauvignon Blanc, this rare expression of the vineyard has received French oak fermentation and maturation.

Incredibly pronounced on the nose with notes of lime peel, grapefruit, steely minerality, oak, asparagus and toast. Richly textured with bags of acidity and tension to off-set the creamy complex fruit. Full of verve and richness in equal measure. If you like mass-produced supermarket Sauvignon Blanc that carries a trace of varietal character; then this is definitely not for you.
