Domaine de Baronarques 2016, A.C. Limoux, France

Regular price £52.50

Nestled in Saint-Polycarpe near Limoux in the historic Languedoc region, Domaine de Baronarques is a remarkable wine estate with roots stretching back to the 17th century. Once known as Domaine de Lambert and originally belonging to the Benedictine Abbey of Saint-Polycarpe, the property was acquired in 1998 by Baroness Philippine de Rothschild and her sons, bringing the renowned Rothschild winemaking expertise to southern France.

The nose opens on fragrant, juicy, fresh fruit notes. With airing, subtle spice and chocolate aromas bring a certain succulence. After a fresh and well-structured attack, refined, silky tannins emerge on the full and dense mid-palate, while crushed blackcurrant, cocoa and liquorice flavours give the wine excellent aromatic length. The flavours linger on the remarkably long, harmonious and balanced finish.
