Maison Roche de Bellene Bourgogne Rouge Pinot Noir 2022, A.C. Bourgogne, France

Regular price £28.00

The city of Beaune, once called Bellene until the middle ages, is renowned for its Burgundian wines. Nicholas Potel personally chose this brand name in reference to this city, historically linked wiht wine and famous for its diversity of terroirs. It was founded in 2008 after establishing Domaine de Bellene. Potel has travelled the world in pursuit of learning as many techniques and skills as possible, so that he could, one day, apply them on his home turf. This is the entry Cote d’Or Pinot which is classic Burgundian pinot through and through.

This starts on the nose under the guise of a classic Burgundy Pinot with notes of morello cherry, mushroom and redcurrants. After a few swirls expect a much more perfumed nose of violet and lavender. The palate has a density that you may not expect, all swept up by a backbone of acidity. This is serious Pinot!
