Chafor Vintage Cuvée 2021, Buckinghamshire, England
Founded by Tim and Sarah ,Chafor is a family-ran and family-friendly vineyard in the heart of rural Buckinghamshire, and is the closest operating vineyard to Waddesdon Manor. The 9.3 hectare estate once formed part of the ancient hunting forest of Bernwood before the first vines were planted in 2009. Tim focuses on quality in the vineyard, with all fruit being hand-harvested before making its way to the winery where it is treated with a 'minimum intervention' approach and bottled on-site. Awarded 88 Parker points by The Wine Advocate, this traditional method sparkling is Buckinghamshire's answer to Champagne.
Traditional method sparkling wine that is lemon-gold in colour, with spicy fruits, hints of peach, and a fine mousse layered with honeyed fig, and baked apple. The wine is aged on lees for 24 months, providing a well-rounded mouth feel and lots of baked brioche character.
