Kit’s Coty is the finest vineyard on the Chapel Down estate which always manages to produce the best quality fruit year on year. An expressive and elegant take on Bacchus from Chapel Down’s premium Kit’s Coty vineyard. The 2021 vintage opens with an aromatic bouquet of elderflower, lime blossom, and grapefruit zest, underpinned by subtle hints of green apple and crushed nettle. On the palate, the wine is vibrant and layered, showing ripe citrus and tropical fruit notes (think gooseberry, guava, and passion fruit) balanced by a fine mineral edge from the chalk soils of the North Downs. Fermented in old oak barrels, there’s a gentle roundness and texture that elevate this beyond the typical Bacchus style, adding complexity without masking the variety’s trademark freshness. The finish is long, zesty, and refined.
