Regular price £50.00

Located in Tenterden in Kent, Chapel Down has become one of England’s leading wine producers with an award-winning range of sparkling and still wines. Chapel Down focus on changing the way that the world thinks about English wine. The North Downs of Kent are renowned for it’s chalky soils, allowing for richness and complexity to come through the wines. Kit’s Coty is the finest vineyard on the Chapel Down estate which always manages to produce the best quality fruit year on year. This is their top expression of Bacchus, and is one of England’s finest still wines.

An expressive and elegant take on Bacchus from Chapel Down’s premium Kit’s Coty vineyard. The 2021 vintage opens with an aromatic bouquet of elderflower, lime blossom, and grapefruit zest, underpinned by subtle hints of green apple and crushed nettle. On the palate, the wine is vibrant and layered, showing ripe citrus and tropical fruit notes (think gooseberry, guava, and passion fruit) balanced by a fine mineral edge from the chalk soils of the North Downs. Fermented in old oak barrels, there’s a gentle roundness and texture that elevate this beyond the typical Bacchus style, adding complexity without masking the variety’s trademark freshness. The finish is long, zesty, and refined.
