Château Cantemerle 2005, 5eme Grand Cru Classé Haut-Medoc, France

Regular price £95.00

Located in the southern part of the Medoc peninsula near the villages of Macau & Ludon, Chateau Cantemerle, designated a great growth in the famous 1855 classification, has deep gravel soil. Thanks to its unique terroir, Cantemerle produces complex, well-balanced, and refined wines. This is from the legendary 2005 vintage, a year of extremes and also of balance.

Aromas of coffee and caramel accompany an opulent presence on the palate; the attack is smooth and impressions of roundness persist through the finish. Still, the wine resists aging, preserving a slight firmness which balances the softness of the super-ripe tannins.
