Chateau d'Armailhac 2020, 5eme Grand Cru Classe, Pauillac, France

Regular price £90.00

Chateau d'Armailhac is a 5th Growth estate which was acquired by Baron Philippe de Rothschild in 1933 (the same year his daughter, Baroness Philippine, was born). Alongside Chateau Mouton Rothschild and Chateau Clerc Milon, Chateau d'Armailhac is one of the three Pauillac estates belonging to the Mouton branch of the family. Located next to the Mouton estate, this Pauillac estate covers 76 hectares of gravel-clay soil planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

Chateau d'Armailhac showcases the classic Pauillac style, with fine tannins, richness and structure. The wine has notes of blackcurrant, cedar and graphite, with a full-body whilst still maintaining freshness. The 2020 vintage benefited from a warm, dry growing season, which produced grapes of exceptional quality. Fresh, balanced, dense and powerful, 2020 was a blockbuster of a year for Chateau d'Armhailac!
