Château L'Evangile 1982, A.C. Pomerol, France

Regular price £995.00

Château L’Evangile, situated in the small appellation of Pomerol, dates back as far as 1741 and was acquired by DBR Lafite in 1989. The vineyard is planted with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, and produces richly textured, complex and ripe Merlot based clarets. The Grand Vin, Château L’Evangile, showcases the best this estate has to offer and with Lafite’s expertise at the helm, this is one of the finest Pomerol’s around.

Without a doubt one of the finest vintages on record, with Chateau l’Evangile 1982 now showcasing beautiful tertiary notes. An elegant nose with notes of black olives and bay leaves accompanied by a subtle smell of smoke. A very nice sweetness in the mouth with a surprising freshness for the age of this wine. A beautiful balance bringing a lot of delicacy.
